The 20th Annual Cavalcade of Pride will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010.
This year’s celebration promises to be special, with Blue Island celebrating a milestone of its own - 175 years since the Rexfords settled in Blue Island.
Awards will be given to the best of the following in the City of Blue Island:
- ♦ home in each ward
- ♦ apartment building
- ♦ garden
- ♦ business property &
- ♦ best block

Cavalcade of Pride is an annual award that honors property owners who have done an exceptional job of maintaining and improving the exteriors of their homes, businesses and neighborhood. Winners are recognized at an awards banquet, held each year in September. You don’t have to own a historic home to win, you just have to be proud of your place and love Blue Island!
Each year the Blue Island Historic Preservation Commission asks residents and visitors to nominate their favorite homes and businesses in the annual Cavalcade of Pride competition. The Blue Island Historic Preservation Commission, Blue Island FORUM newspaper, and the Blue Island Historical Society judge each entry.
