The City of Blue Island seeks assistance in producing a site reuse plan within the City’s South COD district.

The City of Blue Island wishes to obtain qualifications and a priced proposal for site planning and recommendations associated with the redevelopment of Brownfield sites in the South COD area. The work will be completed in cooperation with the City of Blue Island and as part of the USEPA Brownfields Assessment grant awarded in 2008. All work that is completed shall conform to respective EPA Brownfields requirements. RFP – Calumet-Sag Trail Corridor Development Plan

Update on the Master Plan and Wayfinding signage for the Calumet-Sag Trail!
The City of Blue Island (as the lead agency) received 23 proposals. Copies of the proposals have been distributed to each of the communities/organizations along the trail for review. By the end of May, the committee will meet to discuss the proposals. By mid-June, a maximum of five (5) companies will be selected as finalists and asked to attend final interviews with the committee. A company will be selected by the end of June. The project will begin in August 2009. We appreciate the overwhelming response to the RFP and the work that went into the proposals submitted.

Request for Proposal (RFP) for Traffic Engineering Services

The City of Blue Island is actively searching for a priced proposal from transportation engineering firms for a traffic study that will examine the existing one-way thoroughfare on Western Avenue at the intersection of Gregory Street to a two-way operation.
