Black Culture Night 2012

Neighborhood Watch Group #37 hosts the Black Culture Night on Friday, February 17th at 7pm. This annual event is celebrating its 12th Anniversary recognizing Black History Month. Organized by Rachell Orozco and Alderman Nancy Thompson, expect a variety of speakers addressing the contributions of Black Americans. All are welcome… and welcome to bring guests!

District 218 to Host All-Class Reunion

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

District 218 will host its first All-District/All-Class reunion on Saturday, January 28 from 6 to 10 p.m. at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park.

The Friends of District 218, an educational foundation, will sponsor this event as a fund raiser supporting college scholarships for students and grants for teachers. The event includes dinner, an open bar, disk jockey, and raffles.

Through January 13, tickets cost $75 per couple or $40 per individual. After January 13 and at the door, tickets cost $50 per person. Tickets are available in the main offices of Eisenhower High School, 12700 S. Sacramento, Blue Island; Richards High School, 10601 S. Central Avenue, Oak Lawn; and, Shepard High School, 13049 S. Ridgeland Avenue, Palos Heights.

Tickets also are available at the Administrative Center, 10701 S. Kilpatrick or by calling 708-424-2000, ext. 2500 to order tickets. Checks should be made payable to ‘CHSD 218 Foundation.’

Civil War Series: “Boy Soldiers of the Civil War”
