On Thursday, June 3, Congressman Bobby Rush in cooperation with the US Small Business Administration is presenting a District Business Loan Day.

Business owners will be able to apply on site for a loan from $5,000 to $25,000. Applicants must bring a photocopy of their driver’s license, their Federal tax ID number, and a business check. The event will take place at Raday Lodge, 3220 W. 145th Street in Midlothian, from 5:30pm – 8pm.

On Thursday January 15, the Blue Island Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented its awards for Man, Woman and Business of the Year. Congratulations to this year’s winners who include:

Business of the Year:  A&R Security
Woman of the Year:   Cathe Adamski (Flowers By Cathe)
Man of the Year:         Don Peloquin (Mayor of Blue Island)

The Mayor, along with MetroSouth CEO Arnie Kimmel received the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship Award from the Blue Island/Crestwood Rotary. $1,000 was donated in each of their names to further the mission of Rotary.

Colors were presented by the ROTC of DD Eisenhower High School under the direction of Master Sergeant James Kirkland the cadets were:
