A Winter Storm Watch
is in effect from Thursday through Sunday with the possible accumulation of 8 to 12 inches of snow. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including the commute.

Residents
This is a message from the Blue Island Police Department. We are expecting heavy snow which could reach up to 12 inches. Blue Island Public Works will be continuously out during and after the snowstorm clearing the snow for safer passage, so please make their job easy by moving your parked vehicle off the posted snow routes. The Blue Island Police Department wants to remind everyone to move their vehicles or any other object off the posted snow routes until the streets are completely plowed and the snow has stopped falling. If your vehicle is parked in a snow route you may possibly receive a parking ticket and/or have your vehicle towed. Please be careful driving if you have to go out. Please share this information to as many people as you can.

Business Owners
Help the city clear all snow and ice from the sidewalks in front of your establishment. Our main concern is to keep sidewalks safe for pedestrian traffic. You may shovel snow into the street.

Thank you for your cooperation.
