The Friends of the Rock Island are having their 21st Semi-Annual Chicagoland Meeting on Saturday, May 9th, from 6:30 pm to 9 pm at Grace United Methodist Church in the lower level. There will be a “Mini” Swap Meet and Display at 6:30. Bring items you want to trade, sell or show. There are a limited number of tables and there is a limit of one per dealer. You must pre-register for a table by emailing Jim Suhs at jamessuhs@sbcglobal.net or calling him at 815.588.1504. At 7:30, the presentations will begin. Phil Weibler will present photos and talk about the early years of Rock Island Cabooses and Paul Hunnell will show many slides of them as they appeared later on.
